Roger of Todi

Francis of Assisi invited Roger of Todi (also referred to as Blessed Roger of Todi) to join the Franciscan order in 1216 after witnessing the latter's virtues. Roger was often asked to accompany Francis on his missions, and Francis charged him with advising a community of nuns in Rieti, established by Philippa Mareri, that followed similar principles as those of the Poor Clares.
