Luis Ruiz Gutiérrez

Writer, historian, poet, media contributor, and lecturer Luis Ruiz Gutiérrez has dedicated more than 50 years to studying the Franciscans of the Iberian Peninsula. Luis is a member of the Secular Franciscan Order and a founding member of the Hispanic Association of Franciscan Studies, which is part of the Saint Francis and the Americas (SFA) project. His knowledge and contributions to the project have been unique and extraordinary, particularly pertaining to his research on Ciudad Rodrigo in Spain, a topic on which he has written several books and articles. Through Luís's efforts, the SFA project has established important contacts and has received recognition in Ciudad Rodrigo. Gutiérrez continues to pursue meaningful work in his study of Franciscans, book projects, journal article writing, and lecturing.
